First off -- sorry for the cross post....
Well,
I spent last week in Norcross, GA with Adam and David Churvis at the
CFMX Master Class, and I thought I'd pass on to the list my impressions of
that experience.
First of all they were both exceedingly hospitable and nice to me and the
other student. They provided plenty of drinks and snacks to keep us
energized through the long days. And the days were long, but that's not
necessarily a bad thing. I remember asking on this list about others'
experiences, and that was one of the things somebody mentioned, that you
need to be prepared mentally for the long days. No partying!!! All I did was
sleep and go to class.
The coursework was very thorough and covered all of the important areas with
special emphasis on Custom Tags and Components. That alone made it worth it
to me.
They took the time to answer all of our questions completely. They were
willing to bend the curriculum to the shape that we as the students needed.
It wasn't just lecture, but real hands on work that you got to do. This is
the only way I really learn something. They were right there if we had any
problems.
All in all it was a great experience and I am considering attending the
Database class later in the summer.
