Of course this gets really bad with straight up "R" rated movies.  There
were playsets and toys for all the "Aliens" movies for example.  Same for
less graphic but still potentially scary movies like "Van Helsing", "The
Mummy" and so forth.

Another issue is stories that get darker like "Sith" - the first two movies
may have stuck up the joint, but they were essentially family friendly.
This one sounds like it won't be.  The same thing is happening to the "Harry
Potter" series as it gets much darker with age.

I'm not sure it's really a "problem" (at least not one that I see any need
for legislation on) - but it is something parents have to deal with.
