There's a very small market for fuel efficient cars and a slightly larger one for Hybrid cars (since it sounds good). That automakers are just trying to fake us No, it means that people are fooled into thinking this is a "green" direction because it's a "hybrid" as if the extrapolation of the concept will somehow be "green". It isn't thus the herring. The extrapolation of the concept is a dead end since electricity has to be produced somewhere and even if we figure out a clean way to do that the market will never be there unless electric cars can provide the same performance as petrol. A much higher likelihood is that ethanol or NG replaces petrol in part or whole until bio-diesel or ethanol is viable (not dependant on oil).
