Have you tried copying the SATA Drivers to the CD itself?

In other words making your own XP CD on a CD-RW and including your
drivers on that?

While you are at it, include Windows Service Pack 2 as well, so you
get that installed one time.

It's a good idea to gather the latest updated drivers for your
equipment from the manufacturer's sites online so you don't install
old drivers which may have come on the CD when you bought your stuff
however long ago :)

Use a CDRW in case you mess up, so you can just erase it and go again.
