>Yeah! My son rented this for Xbox a couple of weeks ago. It is a very >cool game and I love how everything was Lego-ized. When you "kill" the >enemy, their blocks scatter.
I really hope this leads to Lego versions of their other properties (although I'm sure this would be a licensing nightmare). The game is just so purely fun. I would love to see the same sensibilities applied to "Spiderman" or "Harry Potter" for example. >I like how it was created in a not-so-dark manner as the movie or other >games will be. It has the entire story there, but in a entertaining way >for younger children. The characterization is just beautiful. You can easily imaging kids playing the same way with their sets. The facial expressions, light-slapstick comedy and body language they evoke from the minifigs is just perfect. >I think, just because they are legos, that kids won't have the issues of >differentiating breaking legos and hurting real people. (For those who >say video games are a cause of crime.) Well - I'm not one of them. ;^) But I would still love to see a sandboxed Sims/GTA-type game done with legos. I remember how much fund I had with the "Gummy-ship" in Kingdom Hearts and that was just a minor minigame. I would love to see a video game which allowed me to build lego exploration machines or spaceships and meet challenges. It would be so cool! Your character would just be a head - you could then apply different hats, capes, torsos and legs! At first you'd just get so many peices - perhaps just enough to build basic shelter. Then you could earn more to maybe build a car or a garden (or even a friend). You'd use virtual legos to provide your minifig with food, shelter, transportation, companionship, etc. The more bricks you earn the better off your mini-fig is. How cool would that be?
