So I guess they just ignore the bar scene in X-Men 2 where "Dr. Henry McCoy" is
on the TV talking about mutants?

In some way, I can understand why they chose him. McCoy is an intellectual, a
scholar, and a big budget movie like this is all about making safe choices for
marketing purposes. Grammar is a well-regarded actor with two very successful
TV series under his belt, and movie-goers will instantly identify him with the
intellectual McCoy character.

I want to know if they are even going to use the Beast look. For non-comic book
readers, McCoy was always nicknamed the Beast because of his incredible
reflexes, agility, etc. He later changed into a blue-furred monster in some
kind of an industrial accident (someone help me out here, I don't remember the
details). But they could ignore that entire part of the comic. After all, Jean
and Cyclops are the only "original" X-Men that are part of the core team.
Iceman is a kid, Beast is some guy on TV, and I don't recall seeing anything
about Angel. Was there some minor reference in the first X-Men to him? I don't
remember. I always liked the Archangel character more, anyway.

Speaking of Archangel, I'd love to see Apocalypse as the next big villain. That
would be cool. Either that or the alien super-warrior guy, what was his name?
