y'know...the fact of the matter is that i'm a fairly rational person. i understand and accept that, while our justice system may be flawed...it works for the most part. i understand that police officers cannot and should not be judge, jury, and executioner.
but without looking at the big picture, and purely on a case by case basis...sometimes i have difficulties accepting that it's "OK" for a guy to brutally murder his girlfriend (or any other human being) and stand on a crane, effectively holding law enforcement officials "hostage". in this case (again, without looking at the big picture and realizing the anarchy that a pure police state would bring), I can't help but wish for a real stiff wind to blow by. same with the 17 year old that raped and beat an 8 year old girl and left her for dead in a trash pile. in that same myopic way, i have little to no problem with giving the father of that girl a large bat and leaving him in a room with the piece of shit that did this to his daughter for a few hours (or however long it happens to take). <sigh> but overall...yes...i agree that it would be wrong to shake the crane :| On 5/27/05, Ian Skinner <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > And once you have set the precedent of allowing the cops to be judge, jury > and executioner in this case.
