OMG these are funny!!! I used to work as internet tech support back in the first days of 56K connections. Some of my favorite calls were (in no particular order)...
1) Lady was on the internet while making her breakfast. Somehow this was a mistake because her appliances pwned her connection - "My toaster went crazy and disconnected me." 2) A very paranoid man insisted that his ex-wife has hacking into his computer. The computer was unplugged and securely packaged in boxes. He said that his wife, apparently quite the hax0r, was still reading his files. 3) A dude from California was very happy that I fixed his internet connection, so he gave me a psychic reading. 4) If only they all could end this way. Customer keeps getting disconnected from the internet at random times. In case it's a line-noise issue, I ask if he has a second line. He says "yes, I'm calling you with my second line. How can I use that one for internet?". I say "Well, just plug your modem into the other phone line and try to connect". He says "OK, that sounds good.... So if I just take THIS wire and *click* *dialtone*". 5) This is internet tech support, but someone's always going to be sneaky about out of scope matters (and tenuously tie it with their internet connection). A customer said saying "I turned of my computer today and I get this really weird 'crunching' sound. It say 'invalid media' on the screen and windows won't start. And.............. I can't connect to the internet." My response "Oh, good try!".
