Well... actually, whether or not the sun revolves around the earth or vice-versa is just a point of view. If you assume for that the earth is stationary, the sun IS revolving around the earth. If you assume that the sun is stationary, the earth is revolving around the sun.
Astronomers prefer to use the viewpoint that the Sun is the stationary object because it allows them to explain the motion of objects in space using simple circles and ellipses rather than complex ellipsoid shapes (the shape you get when you affix a pencil to a specific point on a circle and roll the circle along a line). However, even this can be taken further out. If you were to place the stationary point at what the scientific center of the universe is, and you were to look at the sun and the earth, you would see two bodies orbiting each other.
