Sure it makes a difference. Many people drink, but most don't get drunk every time they drink. If you couldn't smoke MJ without getting stoned, then you become impaired every time you use it, and there's no recreational use of it. You become drugged up. Vicodin - it's a prescription. By default you shouldn't use it when for any other reason than to kill pain. If MJ is a prescription, that's fine as well.
Really though, other than as a pain medication, why do it? Nothing good comes of it, it's socially unacceptable, it's a filthy habit and it's a waste of money. I feel the same about cigarettes. I look at smokers as nasty people. I guess I'm a snob. I mean, yes, I guess you can get a "little" stoned, and a "lot" stoned, but why does it matter? It's all a matter of responsibility while under the influence. Besides that, if we are speaking in the terms of the original intent of this thread, medicinally, it really shouldn't matter. You take one Vicodin, you're stoned, but that is still medically legal and a treatment for many types of pain. I don't think whether or not you can regulate your high (which you can if you're an experienced smoker) should have any bearing on legalizing or not. Love to hear why you think this.
