Cargill to build biodiesel plant in Iowa Cargill Inc. plans to build a biodiesel plant and glycerin refinery in Iowa Falls, Iowa, to take advantage of a growing market for alternative fuels, the company announced Wednesday.
The plant, to be built next to the company's soybean-processing facility, will make 37.5 million gallons of biodiesel and 30 million pounds of glycerin a year from soybean oil, the company said. Cargill also hopes to use animal fat or waste grease in the production of the alternative fuels. Construction is expected to begin this summer, and production should begin in April 2006, the company said. Minnetonka-based Cargill, a private agriculture company, is already the nation's third-largest producer of ethanol, an alternative fuel made using corn. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Find out how CFTicket can increase your company's customer support efficiency by 100% http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=49 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:160236 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
