I don't believe the RDS changes the resolution of the remote system. "Full Screen" applies only to the RDS application window, not the desktop. Or so I think. You should be able to try this - set your remote desktop to the lowest resolution you've got and re-remote. If I'm right the balc bars were have gotten larger.
