I have a two year old Panasonic portable DVD with an LCD monitor. When I'm at home, it works great with my home theater setup (dolby digital & dts optical output) and while I'm away it works just as well. A single battery charge will last through a long movie and even has a cool little remote. The sound is OK (actually, pretty good considering the size) and the LCD screen is clear.
