Everybody knows about the Canadian "eh" as in, "I don't think that's going to work, eh?" Well Minnesota (and Wisconsin) have the "hey" that's used for emphasis. For example, "That's not going to work, HEY". Rather than trail off, the "hey" is emphasized. "That's cool, HEY." Then there's the use of "why" to indicate a decision is best or has been made. For example, "I'll show up early. Why, that'll give me time to get ready." or "If they show up early, why, we can just begin." I guess the East coast has "wicked" and the West coast has extraneous likes, "dude", and "hella". EAST COAST: "That's wicked cool, man!" WEST COAST: "Dude, that's all, like, hella cool!" INET: "OMG, hi2u!" or "OMG, 0wn3d!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Discover CFTicket - The leading ColdFusion Help Desk and Trouble Ticket application http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=48 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:160870 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
