>Can you please explain what the liberal-Limbaugh conservative-Franken >phenomenon is? I just don't see it. And I did Google "Cognitive >Dissonance".
In a nutshell what the early studies did was give their subjects $$ for giving a speach supporting a position on some topic they strongly disagreed with. Before and after the talks the researchers measured the persons attitudes and perceptions of the topic. With each talk the subjects gave, the more positive were their attitudes towards that position. They also did followups and found that after the subjects stopped giving the talks their attitudes slowly drifted back towards their original positions. So using the Limbaugh/Frankin example, after a short while of giving the pro Liberal (for Limbaugh) or pro Conservative (for Frankin) support on their shows, they would move to the center. larry ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Find out how CFTicket can increase your company's customer support efficiency by 100% http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=49 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:161085 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
