Bush's Support on Major Issues Tumbles in Poll

Increasingly pessimistic about Iraq and skeptical about President
Bush's plan for Social Security, Americans are in a season of
political discontent, giving Mr. Bush one of the lowest approval
ratings of his presidency and even lower marks to Congress, according
to the New York Times/CBS News Poll.

That's not to say the Democrats would do any better but I think what
we're seeing is the failure of our gov't to accurately and effectively
represent the people. I think that's due to the lobbyists and money
that are involved these days: Congress represents special interests
first and the people second - this goes for the President too.

Put another way, I don't think this is an us vs. them problem, it's a
system problem. Our recruiting system favors those who know to work
special interests no matter the party. Consequently they suck at
government.
