I tried that with my mother. It didn't work either. My mother lives in WhiteRock BC, just north of Bellingham. I'm on the East Coast of the US. You would not believe the long distance bills that wracked up until we managed to get the thing set up right - now I just get deluged with email from her when things go wrong.
