When I was in Galveston the lifeguard came and told us that we had to
move away from the jetty as the sharks tended to cluster there. Very
matter of factly. This was a public beach mind you, with a jetty where
sharks tend to cluster :) We got out of the water :)

People who live there told us that these are sand sharks, that they
are all over the beaches there, and that you are probably safe unless
you are wearing jewelry.
