Starting on Sunday, I was working with my faucet in the kitchen. Whenever we were building our house, the waterline broke and sand got in it during the repair. So, I was removing pieces of the faucet thinking I wasn't anywhere near the piece that holds back the water.
Anyway, we have a 2 inch water line that runs downhill 1200ft from the street so we've got lots of pressure. The top of the water shot off and water started splashing off the ceiling onto the wood floor. Meanwhile my 3 girls were laughing their heads off as they thought this was most hillarious. I was holding my hand over the faucet top trying to redirect the water back into the sink. I was also trying to turn the water off underneath the sink. Unfortunately I turned off the cold first. Owww! After 30 minutes of drying things off, I started to put the faucet back together. I got everything put back and thought, hmmm this doesn't feel right. Went online, found the parts list and low and behold, I was missing 2 springs and 2 seats that apparently were launched into the atmosphere during the debacle. Another 45 minutes later, I found all 4 pieces. 1 was in the garbage disposal, the others were underneath various pieces of furniture. Monday came and on my way to work, the exit ramp off of the highway had slowed to a stop. Unfortunately the driver 2 cars behind me didn't realize that. Crash! My truck didn't get much damage, the bumper got pushed forward about an inch. As I was talking with the witness who was nice enough to stop and give me their number, the guy who ran into me drove off! Schmuck! So Tuesday, on the way home, my wife calls and says that the A/C isn't working and of course it's flirting with 100 degress in Dallas. Get home and see that my dog who's on a zip line had somehow managed to tangle himself on the outside unit. My wife said she saw a coyote in the yard about an hour earlier. From what I can deduce, my dog got territorial with the coyote and with his superdoggy strength, he moved the unit about 2 feet so that it is tilting off of the concrete pad. Also, the wires and 1 of the copper lines were shredded in process. By the time I got there, all I could do is listen to the freon escaping out through the line. So now it's Wednesday. I'm waiting for the A/C tech to show up. I'm kinda scared to leave the house. Is this irrational? :) -- Marlon "Oh man, I need TV when I got T.
