I am the cross to take your nail: A singer of these ageless times. Though Cup Of Wonder (on the same album iirc) has very definate pre-christian references to Beltane and the chalice (my personal favorite religious symbol from that region, which was later appropriated as communion). I think the Mummer's Dance also falls into this category... and iirc Clannad recorded a song about the Horned One (who's been later appropriated as modern depictions of Satan - which as I understand it isn't what the character originally represented). Wish I could remember the name of the song... they probably have recorded others -- and likely so has Loreena McKennit -- I know she's made secular recordings of some other traditional celtic songs. s. isaac dealey 954.522.6080 new epoch : isn't it time for a change? add features without fixtures with the onTap open source framework http://www.fusiontap.com http://coldfusion.sys-con.com/author/4806Dealey.htm ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Discover CFTicket - The leading ColdFusion Help Desk and Trouble Ticket application http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=48 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:163599 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
