So what if he said 1 day? Would that make them blow up something every day? It doesn't matter. The radicals dont care what Sharon says. They only care that Israel still exists at all. If they cant have peace for seven days, then the people they are dealing with (Arafat et al.) don't have the power to control the radicals, or they are asking the radicals to bomb the Israelis. Either why make peace with your enemies? The US has always blown the crap out of our enemies, or placed enough military power on the table (Cold War, or China) that the enemy doesn't try anything.
This whole situation is bringing me back to the discussion we had about a month ago and is validating everything I have said. Bush's whole poilicy towards Israel has been entirely wrong. He thinks that they should just give up the occupied areas and it will all go away, so he can score some political points in the Middle East. The problem is that the radical arabs are not going to be happy until Israel does not exist anymore, or until Israel teaches them another lesson like they did in '68. I've said it before, and I'll just say it again. Since Bush has been alienating the Israelis so much recently, Israel is going to take their reaction into their own hands.
