This has been a peeve of mine for a while. There were several technologies competing for online font delivery at one time (the one from BitStream seemed to be most popular and I think is still supported in IE) but then the whole thing just disappeared. Stylesheets are great, but there's a gaping whole when it comes to managing the resources they might need. Why can't I specify a location for a font file which will be used if the agent can use it and ignored if not? Uh, why? I can point to graphics this way (which not all agents can use) so why not fonts?
