Even if you have to cut the up-to-the-overflow and over-to-the-drain
hard copper lines, a copper-to-PVC desanco fitting can let you replace
the new section with simple-to-install PVC.

If you ever need to install hot or cold water lines, look into PECS
flexible tubing. My brother-in-law (a plumber) doesn't install
anything but these days.

A typical bathroom install is now an easy morning's work using the
PECS rather than copper.
