I think you everything right, just backwards ;)

Here are the group types:

Builtin Local
Universal
Global
Local

A Builtin Local can contain any of the other types, now a builtin local is
not the same as an automatically created local. Kinda like a square is a
rectangle but a rectangle is not always a square :)

A Universal Group can contain objects of type Universal, Global, or Local

A Global Group can contain objects of type Global or Local

A Local Group can contain objects of type Local

Where it all gets confusing is when you introduce the Global Catalog, Why
they didn't call it the Universal Catalog is beyond me, but anyway.
Universal Groups are the only objects that can access the Global Catalog.

Local, Global, and Universal Groups are listed in the Global Catalog.
Builtin Local Groups ARE NOT listed in the Global Catalog, however, they can
read from it.
