Actually the falls themselves are pretty well preserved on both sides - but
down the gorge the Canadian side has definitely done a better job of
catering to tourists (and bringing in the millions of dollars they carry
with them).

The American side has nothing any longer... the Rainbow Centre is a parking
lot and crappy outlet mall.  The Turtle closed years ago and I believe that
the Arboretum is closed now as well.  Most of the hotels are discount houses
and the only restaurants to speak of are cheap "Denny's" knock-offs.

Naigara Falls, N.Y. is dying slowly by small steps.

The Canadian side has always had stuff to do: wax museums, the pyramid place
and Skylon centers, Maple Leaf village and now several casinos.
