Big big if. If we really got real intelligence on al-Qaeda from destroying this kid, well, I don't like it, but he tried to attack the US and when he couldn't do it here, he went to Afghanistan. Makes him poster boy for people that should be locked up to keep them from doing further harm. But here's my real issue, ok issues. One, it may not have been physical torture but it seems to me they destroyed this kid. But more importantly, two, we gained nothing by them doing so. If we had to destroy him in order to prevent another 9/11, so be it. But as it stands we don't know that we have done more than make enemies of everyone who ever liked him, and the people he named are saying with some justification that in his state of mind he might have said absolutely anything, true or false, to make it stop. Hopefully this clarifies what planet I am from. The pragmatic one.
