Filmmaker Details Ordeal as a Detainee in Iraq

Day to Day, July 28, 2005 ยท Iranian-American Cyrus Kar was filming a
documentary in Iraq when U.S.-led forces detained him as a suspected
terrorist. Kar was imprisoned in Iraq for 55 days, though Kar claims
American officials determined his innocence in little over a week.
Madeleine Brand speaks with Kar and his lawyer Marc Rosenbaum about
the filmmaker's ordeal as a detainee in Iraq.

He was released only becase the ACLU and press forced the US attorneys
to declare in court why they were holding him.  He was released the
day before the court deadline.
