It's a classic brainwashing technique. Tell gullible, insecure people that they're smart and part of an elite group. In Limbaugh's case he implies that to continue to be part of the group you have to keep listening to him. In this way people develop an emotional connection to the show; their self-worth becomes directly tied to the gospel according to Limbaugh. Frequently when you confront people with this they'll say, "oh, I disagree with this and that" which they do. But they also keep going back to the trough because it's not Limbaugh they worship, but the high level message he delivers. Ask them why they listen and if you dig in, you'll most likely discover they don't know themselves. It's a classic grift. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Discover CFTicket - The leading ColdFusion Help Desk and Trouble Ticket application http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=48 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:167122 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
