And there's been some really good ones in the past few years. Most of them are one cable this week. Here's my list of recent movies to rent for a night of modern zombie mayhem:
"Resident Evil" is one of the best game-movies ever. It captured the feel and staging of the game perfectly without having to find any fucking crests or feathers. "Shaun of the Dead" is a nearly perfect parody of the genre. Shaun walking to the market to get his paper in the morning is one of the funniest scenes ever. And what household items would you collect to throw at a zombie's head? "Dawn of the Dead" (the 2004 version) was sooooo much fun. I love the whole "trapped in normality while the world goes insane" theme taken to the extreme. "28 Days Later" was a decently fresh take on the whole genre. I really liked And just because it must be included in ANY zombie-movie marathon under punishment of (permanent) death: "Army of Darkness" Hail to the King baby.
