I've decided to begin a series on this theme. ;^) I hope people will add to my lists!
This set is movies about crazy fuckers. Not people who are "off" or "challenged" or "disturbed" but all out crazy fuckers. And we all know they're better in groups! "House of a 1000 Corpses" is a nice homage to classic crazy fucker movies. There are lots of crazy fuckers and a fine roster of normal teenagers for them to get crazy all over. "Wrong Turn" is more crazy hillbillies with nice Stan Winston facials (among other things). It doesn't rock the boat, it's formulaic but it's also a ton of fun. "Ravenous" is one of my favorite but completely unappreciated movies. Only one (major) crazy fucker but he-so-crazy. I just loved the staging and direction of this twisted little gem. "Nightbreed" is not, perhaps, what you might normally consider a crazy fucker movie. But I beg to disagree: A crazy doctor, a crazy priest, a whole community of crazy monsters and another whole community of crazy rednecks that come to destroy them. This movie's got more crazy than any 10 movies. And the granddaddy of them all: "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (the orginal, of course, which I still find much more disturbing that the castrated remake).
