Nobody has ever explained to me why the public should subsidize milionaires. You've got billionaire owners, that pay hundreds of millions to players, but can't afford a stadium? Even though I disagree with it, I could understand Washington tax payers buying Microsoft's new campus or Mr. Gates' home. MS employs a lot of people, etc. You can't say the same about professional sports though - I've never seen any convincing evidence that sports brings anything to an area except cost. Basically the stars have asked for more money so the owners went to broadcasters, then sponsors, and now taxpayers. Once they get stadiums, then it'll be equipment, then facilities, then the players' salaries. Why should the government, and therefore taxpayers, subsidize this entertainment business that returns so little? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Find out how to get a fax number that sends and receives faxes using your current email address http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=64 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:168543 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
