The key word in your reply is "pursuing". You're right in that these authoritarian regimes would probably pursue nukes, but the speed that they did that was the key. American, Europe, and the UN knew this so the realistic plan was to pressure them economically, diplomatically, possibly militarily in the hopes that they could delay the programs long enough to see political change. What's changed is that now America is no real invasion threat to either country. Iran and NK know that America's military is maxed out and it's citizens are tired of war. They also know that due to Mr. Bush's controversial invasion of Iraq, the UN is splintered and the Europeans are distrustful. By invading Iraq Mr. Bush has revealed the weakness of our policy, the weakness of our military, and fractured our alliances. Further he's compounded those weaknesses by creating distrust with his citizens and his allies. That means ANY request for ANY military action in ANY country is going to met with an eye so skeptical that it will be ineffectual. Translation: prime time for Iran and NK to rev up their nuke plans especially for rich Iran. With the UN and world alliances splintered, and troops bogged down in 2 foreign countries, America is weak. What's to stop them? The only way now is invasion and that's a card, as I said, that we can't play. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Discover CFTicket - The leading ColdFusion Help Desk and Trouble Ticket application http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=48 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:168831 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
