I just really hate QuickTime.

I hit a site, it says "you need QuickTime"... I accidentally hit "Okay" to
the request. It downloads something then hits Apple's site to download
Quicktime.

I say "no".

You'd think that would be that, uh? No.

The stub it downloaded first, although it can't do a damn thing, installs
itself into my "Run" key, DOESN'T give me an uninstall option (not in the
application itself, not in the add/remove programs, not in the start menu)
and displays a useless QuickTime logo in my tray.

>From this logo I can see 10 greyed out options (since I don't actually
QuickTime installed) and the option to go to Apple's website. To provide me
with this invaluable service this little piece of shit needs upwards of two
meg of RAM constantly.

In the end I had to edit the registry to get rid of it.

This is just nasty.

When Gator and Hotbar do the same thing it's "Spyware" and "Malware" and so
forth... but Apple does it and it's what? "Good UI"?

Just venting.
