Yeah It does, I've never dealt with stock throttle body fuel injection systems.

Cold air means it's getting it's air outside the engine compartment 
somehow, usually down a channel in the vehicles body.  The air filters 
you're talking about would only work with a naturally aspirated car, 
since they sit on the carb, and would only add pressure if they where in 
a hood scoop of some sort.

With the CAI you get some minor pressure from the car moving forward 
forcing the air into the ram.

That help some?

And yeah K&N are good.
