That is not true.

Originally this was the case, but she pulled aside an administration 
official that she knew, and told him that she wanted something more, and 
felt she should get a face-to-face meeting. The official arranged the 
meeting. She was put in a room by herself, waited a few minutes. Eventually 
W. came into the room, and she got to say her piece to him face to face.

I caught an interview with Ms. Sheehan herself where she was relaying this 
experience. She said Bush listened to her, said that he sympathized but that 
he disagreed with her conclusion. Then he asked to hug her. She said she 
accepted, but felt weird about it (for obvious reasons).

She says that after the meeting, she had a generally favorable impression of 
him, but those feelings have changed since  then. This is why she wants the 
SECOND meeting.
