That's noble, but it really gets down to a question of national mandate and resources. First, is our military willing to die to free others, second are US citizens willing to pay for it, and third, who rebuilds the country? Iraq has proven we need a new branch to do that. And by pay for it I don't mean the Neo-con way of borrowing, I mean actually paying for it by giving up services - such as the Highway bill. Using that argument, and assuming our non-defense military branch (new) is willing to die to free others, and we've got our nation-building military branch in place (new), and the country roughly supports it, I agree with you. The problem is, I don't think Americans would've supported invasion solely because Hussein was a bad guy. In fact, Mr. Bush was elected on a mandate of no-nation building. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Purchase Contribute 3 from House of Fusion, a Macromedia Authorized Affiliate and support the CF community. http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=53 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:170084 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
