If you take the time to read them, the docs for the framework explain just about anything you'd ever want to know -- and in some cases things you'd never need to know... I think in all likelyhood the largest problem with them to date has probably been verbosity -- there's so much information and the people reading them are so busy that they don't take the time to sit and read through them -- hence the need for a "quick start". I'm not knocking the other programmers in the community at all -- I definately understand what it's like to be really busy and still trying to find or make the time to read. So you'd think I'd have caught on to that sooner and written the quick-start first. :) I also fancy myself as something of a writer in general, re: CFDJ articles and my own personal project(s): http://www.turnkey.to/ike/613.htm So I may not be indicative of the average OS project author. s. isaac dealey 954.522.6080 new epoch : isn't it time for a change? add features without fixtures with the onTap open source framework http://www.fusiontap.com http://coldfusion.sys-con.com/author/4806Dealey.htm ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Find out how CFTicket can increase your company's customer support efficiency by 100% http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=49 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:170654 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
