In this country? The Feds would lock your ass up and throw away the key :-) We have laws against 1. inciting violence and 2. making a threat against the President.
But people in other countries threaten the President all the time, and the only law that would apply would be the law of their country. So if you live in Iran, you can threaten to kill Bush all day long and not only will you not get prosecuted, you might get to be the head of the government. In some countries, like Britain, you can call for violence against the state and no one will do anything about it. At least that was the case until the July London bombings. Now the Brits seem to be re-thinking that stance, although there is no clear consensus at this point that the will adopt rules like we have in the U.S. Also, I would take issue with your characterization of Robertson as the leader of an international organization. He is the head of a private religious group, not an NGO, or any kind of transnational entity, like Interpol. As for the heads of other such groups calling for Bush's assassination- they do it all the time, and you can bet the CIA, NSA, the Secret Service, and every other Federal agency with overseas operations is keeping tabs on those people. >What would happen if you or I were to call for the assassination of >President Bush?
