Well, I just called the local VW dealership and spoke to the service
manager about this.

He was pretty cool about my apprehension...my main concerns were whether
or not I had to get the work done at an "approved" dealership or not, he
said yes, but all VW dealerships are approved. Next, do I end up with
aftermarket parts or OEM? He told me OEM was the only way that they go,
and that UUG agrees. He also said that they deal with them all the
time, and not to worry. So, I feel much better about the whole thing.
As long as I can bring it to a dealership where they have trained techs
for MY CAR, and it'll get paid for, I'm happy.

And, you're right, they roll it right into the loan, so it is no big
deal, like an extra 15 bucks a month. And, I just found out it is
transferrable, which is a nice thing when we go to sell it.
