I don't think it's that strange either. > >> Maybe planes are simply all getting very old, but because of the cost >> involved airlines are struggling to keep their ageing, and now >> dangerous fleets in the air? > > Isn't the struggling of airlines mainly a US thing caused by the changed > pattern in domestic flights in the US? How many of those US airlines were > involved? > Not really. The struggling of airlines is a host of things, but at the top i think are: continually stricter FAA maintenance rules, skyrocketing fuel prices, and continued 9/11 hardships. I think passenger levels have finally returned to pre-9/11 levels, but it's hard for any company to take such a prolonged hit in patronage, and still maintain their bottom line. I think only one of the latest crashes was an american based jet? That correct? I don't know about other countries, but the very same strict FAA maintenance rules that raise prices, probably saves lives. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Discover CFTicket - The leading ColdFusion Help Desk and Trouble Ticket application http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=48 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:171054 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
