I agree!

But, even in light of the fact that it's not the president who personally 
directs most of the relief effort it is, I believe, important for him to be 
available immediately after a disaster and hold a press conference to assure 
people that everything possible will be done and then to kick some asses to get 
things going and, finally, get down to the area and make an appearance.  I 
think any other president would have done this and Bush certainly did not.

Compare what Bush did to the way Tony Blair handled the 7/7 London bombings or 
the way that Roosevelt handled the aftermath of Pearl Harbor.  Hell, compare 
this to even GW after 9/11.
