the folders can be deleted via ftp.. you just have to make sure you
have the correct number of spaces...  it's an old old trick.. been
around for quite a while. ip ranges are scanned, then tagged. by an
fxp group.. they just shuttle stuff from one server to another,
without using their own bandwidth.. so they up movies.. programs..
pr0n.. the lot.. then post either to public boards... or private
ones... depending on the group or individual.. then it's fair game
until the sysop notices the sluggishness of the box or the increase in
bandwith...

a lot of times (if they know what they are doing) the one that drops
the files will be using a proxy... and if the grabbers aren't idiots..
they will be running on proxies too..

quickest way to get free (but not legal) software is to leave an ftp
open.. but it doesn't stop there.. there are a lot of scene programs
that will scan webservers for vulnerabilities, when one is found it's
logged. you can then go thru the log and use the vulnerability to
upload your own ftp server, configure it.. port, l/p.. and do the
same....
