I haven't gotten them...

On the topic of spamming and direct emails, it looks like the people sending
the emails are trying not to "advertise" to the lists. Since advertising to
the lists can bring a deluge of flames sometimes, I guess that's why some
professionals have resorted to taking the email address of someone that is
posting to a list and replying directly. I've seen this on both CF-Talk and
here on CF-Community.

I guess what some people miss is the fact that we all have a product or
service that we either sell or support. Granted, I'd probably get tackled
if I posted my company's latest flyer on a product, but if I casually
mention that we have something that will fill a need and post a link to it,
I don't see where that could be taken badly. Examples:

Bad... bad ads:
"Try the new CF_Widget tag today! Features include the ability to sort by
color, shape, size and count! Go to our site now at widgetsrus.com!!!"
"Fantastic hosting company offers packages starting so low, every member of
your family will want their own domain!"

Conversational:
"I have a custom tag on my site, widgetsrus.com, that does what you're
wanting to do."
"I own a hosting company and you might find our prices and packages in your
range."

Just my thoughts on the issue. We've all seen both good and bad.
