I think it's more that I don't think that the Senate would not look kindly
on a recess appointment to the Supreme Court when they get back in session.
I'm not sure if it's legal or not though.  It may be that the SC does not
reconvene until October, so the Senate would be back in session and a recess
appointment is moot anyway.

I don't think the president can ram through a supreme court justice the way
he could with a UN Ambassador. Supreme Court Justices are a life time
appointment.

Otherwise he would've cleared out the court and populated it with like
minded individuals.

Could someone tell me the point of these hearings?

Can anything change if he answers badly? Can anything change if he
says screw you all to hell?

Because nothing changed with the appointment of Bolton although the US
Congress did not want him..so what's the point of all these hearings?

Are they just a farce?
