I have been doing this for years. I have 2 static IP addresses with Speakeasy.net, they have great policies, and awesome up time.
I just took down my server to use at work, but will probably set up something again soon enough. It's actually a lot of fun for me, getting my fingers into stuff I wouldn't normally get to do at work.
