I think some dogs also just metabolize fat in different ways, too. I'm not 
saying that every dog will have a fat problem with Iams. But, mine did when 
we briefly tried it. Now, she also ended up with acute pancreatitis later in 
life, so I think she had issues with metabolizing fat.
