OK, here's my reviews for tonight. Smallville vs. Alias is a real fight for a lot of people. They have the same demographic and it'll cause a lot of people to tape one over the other. I'm watching Smallville rather than Alias. I'll have to catch it in reruns. The plot was rather weak but it brought together all the elements for a season opener and I LOVED how they showed Spike... I mean Braniac at the end. :)
Night Stalker was on next and the only reason I'm watching it is because there's nothing on better. If it was put against Supernatural you know where I'd be (Supernatural). It's fine and all, but.... It's nice to see more SF style shows coming up vs. all of the lawyer/cop shows of the last few years. Speaking of lawyer shows, I was disappointed with Boston Legal. I know exactly why and it's because of safety. When Spader was added to the Practice, it was the end of the run. Everyone knew the show was dead so they could act as they wished to a large degree. Spader pushed his character nicely and he was great. Boston Legal was an iffy spin-off so he could also push the character. If it failed, it was ok as it was a spin-off. If it succeeded then it was also good. Problem is, the fast and loose style of the Alan Shore character along with the others won it a lot of awards. They're not acting fast and loose anymore. They're not pushing it like they did. I could always look forward to LMAO within the first few minutes of the show. That was then and this is now. Now is ok. Now is safe but now is not LMAO.
