You should be able to parse the log file(s), manually, and do your own counts.
I wonder if these results are grouped by host in that multiple requests from the same PC would be counted only as a single request. I have a client site that uses Urchin 5 for Web statistics. I send them a monthly report on the number of times various documents (PDF files) are downloaded. Example: /documents/test_1_doc.pdf 41 times /documents/test_2_doc.pdf 37 times /documents/test_3_doc.pdf 18 times ------------------------------------------------------------- Total 96 Now if I run those same log files through SmarterStats, I get completely different numbers. In SS, it has Hits and Visits. Anyone know the difference between the two (Hits vs Visits) in SmarterStats? SmarterStats would have numbers like: Document Hits Visits /documents/test_1_doc.pdf 63 58 /documents/test_2_doc.pdf 45 43 /documents/test_3_doc.pdf 23 20 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Total 131 121 How can I find out which program is most accurate? I know running a counter on the download page to increment will tell me for sure just wondering if there is another way without adding code. I thought that is what the Stat programs would tell me but such a big difference, kind of hard ot believe now. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Protect Your PC from viruses, hackers, spam and more.
