Which version of windows? 2003 supports DVD... the 2003 resource kit
actually has a command line tool for burning DVD ISO files (although I've no
idea how you might actually make ISO files from the command line).

It sounds like your not on 2003... but if you were this little software app
extends windows backup to DVD use:

You can schedule backups to DVD just like you'd schedule any Windows back up
operation.

(Of course even if you're server isn't on XP/2003 you could also off load
the operation to a networked XP box... the you're script on the server would
just be copying the files to the other machine. The other machine'd disk
would be a first-line backup while a scheduled DVD write on that machine
would be a second line.)

Other software (like Roxio I think) offers "direct write" drivers - drivers
which let you drag and drop files to a blank disc like you would with any
other writable media.

Perhaps using something like that in conjunction with the filesystem object
(in other words script the file moves/copies instead of drag of drop) might
work?
