Heh.  That's funny.  Why?  In a recent interview (Time mag online, IIRC) 
with Gaiman and Joss Whedon, Gaiman said (and I'm paraphrasing)
"Sandman wasn't a graphic novel.  I'm not sure what that is.  Sandman 
was a comic book.  I *like* comic books."
